SASO Technical Regulations for Electric Batteries

Based on the ninth article of the organization’s regulation issued pursuant to Cabinet Resolution No. 216 dated 17/6/1431 AH, which stipulates that: 

The Board is the authority concerned with managing the affairs of the Authority, supervising its affairs, and taking all necessary decisions to achieve its purposes within the limits of the provisions of this regulation, and in particular, it may adopt the standard specifications in its form Final and methods of application. 

And after reviewing the approval of the Authority’s Board of Directors in its meeting No. (166) held on 3/1/1440 AH, to Approval of the Technical Regulations for Electric Batteries Document No. (L.T-), 166-18-2, 02 and delegation of governors. The Authority may make any appropriate amendments that do not affect any regulation. 

As it appeared to the authority that it was necessary to make some amendments to the regulation, the decision of the authority’s governor No. (019) was issued. 

And on 3/13/1444 AH, which includes the approval of the amendment of the technical regulation for electric batteries according to the following: 

First: The purpose of the amendment: 

Updating Appendix No. (1-A) the list of electric battery products and related standard specifications, in addition to separating the customs coding list in a separate table (1-B), and a wording amendment on each of Article ( 9) Violations and penalties, and Article (11) transitional provisions. In addition to deleting Appendix (4) the customs coding of the subjected products.

   5/9 Without prejudice to any harsher penalty provided for in the applicable regulations, whoever violates it shall be punished. The provisions of these regulations are related to the penalties stipulated in the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law in force, or any other system that replaces it, or consumer protection legislation Without prejudice to any more severe penalty in the applicable regulations, anyone who violates this shall be punished. The requirements of the approved standard specifications for the products covered by the scope of this regulation technical penalties stipulated in the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law 

(2) Article (11) Transitional Provisions 

Amending items (1/11 and) (1/2) in accordance with the notes received on previous regulations from a survey platform

1/11 The supplier must correct his situation in accordance with the provisions of these regulations, within a period not exceeding (six months) from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette The provisions of this regulation shall be applied within a period not exceeding 180 days from the date of its publication in the Gazette official 
2/11 Subject to the provisions of Paragraph (1) of this Article, the circulation of non-compliant products is allowed to the requirements contained in these regulations, for a period not exceeding six months from the date of its publication in Official Gazette Subject to the provisions of Paragraph (1) of this Article, a period shall be given to suppliers to rectify their situation in the market, in accordance with the requirements of this technical regulation within a period not exceeding 365 days from the date of Publish it in the Official Gazette
