Water Efficiency Labelling

The water Efficiency Label (card) is owned by SASO and includes details specified by SASO about the level of water consumption of products. The label is affixed on all the regulated products ready for import or usage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Water Efficiency Label Certificate of Conformity for Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabian Standards Organization (SASO) has begun enforcement of “Technical Regulation for Water Rationalization Tools” and a SASO Water Efficiency Labelling program for faucets, showers, and toilets based on their water efficiency (high or low) consumption rates. Manufacturers, importers, and exporters are now under obligation to label their products in line with the SASO Water Efficiency Labelling program before importing them to Saudi Arabia.

The regulations set by SASO on the category of products aim to preserve water as a resource and the national economy in addition to reducing costs adhered to by consumers. Water efficiency label regulations cover showers, faucets, water closets, bidets, taps, shower heads, and flush taps.

Saudi Arabia is a country that deals with a scarcity of water. Therefore, the government needs to ensure the wise and judicious use of water. Hence, SASO developed regulations for water rationalization tools to minimize water consumption to the point that it is used only as necessary. Water is one of the most undervalued resources in the world, which is taken for granted very often. Some of it gets wasted by our negligence, and sometimes the machines, tools, and equipment around us do not use judiciously. We need to remind ourselves that saving water helps to preserve our environment and reduce the energy required to process and deliver water to homes, businesses, farms, and communities, which eventually helps to reduce pollution.

SASO Technical Regulation for Water Rationalization

The maximum flow rate is the highest limit for liquids flow in the product, measured by liter per minute (Liter/ Minute).
