About Our Verification Services
VERGER operates as a fully independent Verification Body (VVB) dedicated to evaluating greenhouse gas (GHG) statements with precision and integrity. We help organizations reduce verification risk to an acceptably low level.
We offer two levels of assurance to meet your specific needs:
A full evaluation providing a positive form of expression that your GHG statement is materially correct.
A targeted evaluation, suitable for specific regulatory or internal reporting requirements.
Our GHG Verification Scheme Summary
Our GHG Verification Scheme (VG-SCH-01 VERGER GHG Verification Scheme Summary “pdf”) is the governing framework for all verification activities conducted under our accreditation. We operate in strict conformity with internationally recognized standards, including ISO/IEC 17029:2019, ISO 14065:2020, and ISO 14064-3:2019.
Accredited Scope
VERGER performs GHG verification activities under the control of the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) across the following core sectors:
VG-GHG-GM: General Manufacturing sector including but not limited ” Electric, Electronic, and Machinery Manufacturing, Food, Beverage, and Tobacco Processing, Civil Engineering and Construction, Automotive and Transport Equipment, Textiles, Apparel, and Leather Products, …etc.”
VG-GHG-OG: Oil & Gas and Petrochemicals sector. including but not limited ” Exploration & Extraction, Processing, Refining & Petrochemicals, Storage, Transportation & Distribution, …etc.”
VG-GHG-G: General sector. including but not limited ” Building Services & Facilities Management, Education, Healthcare and hospitals, Financial companies, Hospitality & Tourism, Retail & Wholesale, Public Administration, …etc.”

Our Commitment to Impartiality
At VERGER, objectivity is the keystone of our conformity assessment activities. We are strictly committed to safeguarding impartiality in all verification engagements. VG-PO-01 Impartiality and Confidentiality Policy Statement “pdf”
- Structural Impartiality: Our governance structure separates execution, review, and decision-making roles. A Lead Verifier cannot act as the Independent Reviewer or Decision-Maker for the same engagement.
- Operational Independence: We maintain a dedicated Impartiality Committee, featuring external members, to evaluate and monitor potential threats, including self-interest, self-review, advocacy, and familiarity threats.
- Strict Cooling-Off Periods: No VERGER personnel may participate in the verification of a client GHG statement if they have provided consultancy, advisory, or technical assistance services to that client within the preceding twenty-four (24) months.
Mark and Logo Usage Policy
Transparency and market integrity are vital. VERGER grants authorized Responsible Parties the right to use our Mark of Conformity only under strict conditions:
The Mark may only be used if a valid, unrevised, and non-withdrawn Verification Statement has been issued by VERGER.
The Mark must be directly connected to the specific GHG statement and reporting period identified, and cannot be applied broadly to other claims, products, or services.
The Mark must clearly identify VERGER as the issuing body and include your unique Verification Statement reference number.
Use of the Mark must immediately end within ten (10) working days if the Verification Statement is revised, withdrawn, or expires.
Complaints and Appeals Mechanism
VERGER believes in full accountability and maintains a transparent process for addressing concerns.
Filing a Complaint
A complaint is an expression of dissatisfaction with our services, decisions, or conduct.
- Submission: Complaints must be submitted in writing to the Quality Manager using form VG-F-04.2 Complaint and Appeal Submission Form (pdf)
- Timeline: We acknowledge receipt within five (5) working days. An independent investigation is conducted and concluded within thirty (30) working days, with the outcome communicated in writing.
Lodging an Appeal
Responsible Parties or intended users may appeal specific decisions, such as a modified/adverse verification opinion or the withdrawal of a Verification Statement.
Submission: Appeals must be lodged in writing to the Quality Manager within thirty (30) calendar days of the disputed decision using form VG-F-04.2 Complaint and Appeal Submission Form (pdf)
Review Process: An independent Appeals Panel—comprising members not involved in the original engagement—conducts a full technical re-review.
Timeline: The Appeals Panel issues a binding written determination within twenty-one (21) working days.
Frequently Asked Questions
In a Reasonable assurance engagement, our objective is to reduce verification risk to a very low level, allowing us to confidently state that your GHG statement is materially correct (a positive expression). In a Limited assurance engagement, the risk is reduced to an acceptable level based on the circumstances, leading to a statement that nothing has come to our attention to indicate the statement is incorrect (a negative expression).
Yes. For all reasonable-assurance engagements, we conduct site visit to your primary operational facilities to physically confirm emission sources, inspect monitoring equipment, and interview key personnel. For limited-assurance engagements, site visits are determined based on our initial risk assessment.
Materiality is assessed both quantitatively (usually a 5% threshold of total reported emissions for reasonable assurance, or 10% for limited assurance, unless the specific GHG programme states otherwise) and qualitatively (assessing the nature and context of the omission or error).
The final decision is exclusively made by our authorized Decision-Maker (typically the Technical Manager). This individual must not have been involved in the execution or independent review of the specific engagement, ensuring complete independence.
